Having a fast website today is a necessity. If you are on Wix or Squarespace, there’s not too much you can do for your site speed. However, if you’re on WordPress, there is ALOT you can do for your website speed. And it only takes about 6 minutes.
What is a good website speed?
If your site loads in 2.9 seconds, it is faster than approximately 50% of the web. if your site loads in 1.7 seconds, it is faster than approximately 75% of the web. if your site loads in 0.8 seconds, it is faster than approximately 94% of the web. — SEMRush
Ideally, you want your site to be loading in about a second or so. Most people won’t wait around too long for your site to load. If it hasn’t loaded in a few minutes, they will most likely just assume your site is down and move on to someone else.

What can slow down my website?
The biggest thing I see slowing down websites for my clients is images and having too many plugins. We all want high res images but they can really take up a lot of space on your website so for that reason it’s great to have a plugin like WP Optimize that can compress your images and your database to help with these issues.
How to fix your website speed?
